WHICH IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Tai Chi Ch’uan
Tai chi ch’uan class begins with learning the Cheng Man-Ching Yang style 37 posture form. Each class involves learning one posture at a time in sequence and gradually adding new ones until the whole form is learned. This process can take 8 months to a year. Once the form is learned, individuals can learn push hands or sensing hands, a 2 person interactive technique. CLICK HERE to view a video on Tai Chi Ch’uan.
Tai Chi Fundamentals (TCF)
The Tai Chi Fundamentals System developed by Tricia Yu, simplifies moves from Cheng Man-Ching Yang style that students consistently find difficult. It does so while retaining the integrity of the mind-body principles that are found in traditional tai chi ch’uan. The TCF class is suitable for individuals at any level of fitness. It is recommended for individuals with physical limitations due to aging or chronic illness such as arthritis or fibromyalgia. However it is also an excellent way for those with an optimal level of fitness to learn the fundamental mind-body principle of Tai Chi as well as foundational movement patterns. It involves learning 12 Basic Moves and a simplified tai chi form. This system can be learned in approx. 12 to 16 weeks. CLICK HERE to view a video on Tai Chi Fundamentals.
